Nicolai Howalt has taken a bunch of portraits inspired by his memories as a young boxer. Following a group of young Danish boys, ages 11-17, he has shot each portrai just before and after a fight. The content is surprisingly captivating. The faces and energies all so very different. Sometimes there is not much difference between the two shots while others can be quite startling.
As a teenager Howalt used to box, and as a consequence he has realized that the moments just before and after the match were the most tantalizing.
